make sure that it will begin to charge when you crank it. After you crank the
bike, make sure that the battery will still charge. Continue doing this test
until you see that it will continue to charge while the motorcycle is running.
Once you are certain that your
battery is charging, you can proceed with testing the motorcycle. Remove the
battery from the charger. You can use a multimeter to determine what the
battery's charge level is at this time. In order to determine the level of
energy usage you should also attach a load test fixture to the battery. Use the
load tester to determine what amount of energy is used at different times
throughout the day.
A low level of energy usage means
that your motorcycle battery is performing well. If your battery is performing
poorly, you may want to take the battery out of the charger and replace it with
a new one. However, if you are not sure, you can continue using the battery
under the same condition for a few days. After a few days, you should be able
to tell if there is any deterioration to the battery. If you find out anything
different, replace the battery. Continue using the battery under normal and
abnormal conditions until you are able to tell what the problem is.
